Advocacy In Your Backyard

This year's District Days initiative took place August 8 through September 5. Thirty District Days events raised awareness of the reach and depth of the philanthropic sector around the country. Through the support of foundations, grantmakers, and regional associations, we know of 34 congressional offices that participated.

The Council was proactive in reaching out to District Days participants and potential participants to register their events, gather key contact information, and collect feedback. If you have not already done so, please register your event. This helps Council staff keep track of your efforts, and it also can help others outside/inside the philanthropic community identify future partners.

If you are having an event at a later date, don't forgot to check out our scheduling and planning tips. While they will not be counted in the official numbers for District Days, these events will be captured and recorded in the Capwiz database on an ongoing basis.
